Visa for Oman from Cameroon: price, documents and processing time 2026

Oman does not issue its tourist visa directly to travellers who are not on the exemption list. The Royal Oman Police grants it under the sponsorship of a licensed Omani tourism agency, as a “sponsored tourist visa” valid for 30 days and extendable once by 30 days (official service “Get a sponsored tourist visa” on gov.om, updated on 5 August 2025). To obtain it, you must go through a licensed tourism agency or the Embassy of Oman, before booking any ticket. A Cameroonian passport is no exception: a visa obtained before departure is essential.

The published fee is the government charge alone. Two or three other lines are added before the visa is in the passport, and they are what makes the final bill.

A typical file includes a valid passport, the completed form, passport photos, proof of accommodation, proof of funds and insurance covering the stay. Other documents may be required depending on your profile. Ask the licensed agency or the Embassy of Oman for the visa cost and any agency fees, preferably with a receipt.

Contact either a licensed Omani tourism agency, which sponsors the application and guides you on the documents, or the Embassy of Oman responsible for Cameroon. From the first contact, ask about any appointment and how the file is submitted. Keep a record of every exchange and the written confirmations: they will be useful if an additional document is requested.

Then the application goes to the post accredited for Cameroon, often in a neighbouring capital, or to a state acting on its behalf. Confirm which post is competent with the official source before travelling to a third country to apply, a rejected file at the wrong counter costs the trip and the fee.

The regime follows your nationality, not where you live. If you reside in Cameroon but travel on another country's passport, the rule on this page is not yours. Filing usually still happens from your country of residence, at the post competent for it, but the requirement itself comes from your passport.

Since no processing time is guaranteed, count backwards from your departure date and keep a comfortable margin. Avoid applying at a time when you could not respond quickly to a request for documents. Until the visa is granted, choose changeable or refundable tickets and accommodation.

Applying too late, then having to postpone a trip already paid for, is among the most frequent mistakes. Next come incomplete files, proof of accommodation that does not cover the whole stay and agencies whose licence has not been checked. Finally, remember to respect the visa’s validity and the single-extension rule.
