A visa is required and must be obtained before departure from the Saudi embassy or a BLS centre. Exceptions: GCC residents and holders of a valid, previously used US, UK or Schengen visa can apply for the eVisa online. For Umrah and Hajj, dedicated channels exist (the Nusuk platform).
With an ordinary passport from Cameroon, Saudi Arabia's self-service tourist eVisa is not directly available. Visa applications go through the Saudi embassy or the approved visa centre (BLS International), except in specific situations that unlock the eVisa.
Do I need a visa?
Yes. Holders of an ordinary Cameroon passport need a visa to visit Saudi Arabia, including for tourism. The self-service tourist eVisa is limited to a list of nationalities that does not currently include Cameroon.
Exceptions that unlock the eVisa
Two situations still allow an online eVisa application: holding a valid US, UK or Schengen tourist/business visa that has been used at least once; or being a legal resident of a Gulf Cooperation Council country. In those cases, apply on the official portal visa.visitsaudi.com.
The standard consular application
Otherwise, apply through the Saudi embassy or the approved BLS International centre serving your country. Prepare a passport valid for six months, the application form, photos, proof of accommodation and funds, and an invitation where applicable. Processing times and fees vary — check before booking flights.
Umrah and Hajj
For pilgrimage, do not use the tourist route: Umrah and Hajj have dedicated channels via the official Nusuk platform and licensed agencies. Conditions (season, supervision, quotas) differ from regular tourism.
Common mistakes
Do not pay any website promising a "Saudi eVisa" for your nationality without checking eligibility: the application would be rejected. Use only official channels (embassy, BLS, visa.visitsaudi.com, Nusuk) and beware of intermediaries charging unjustified fees.
