Visa for Belgium from the Dominican Republic: price, documents and processing time 2026

Yes. A Dominican national must apply for a Schengen Type C visa before travelling to Belgium for tourism. Belgium must be the main destination of the trip (the longest stay) or the first point of entry if stays are of equal length. Once issued, the visa is valid for all 29 Schengen countries.

The published fee is the government charge alone. Two or three other lines are added before the visa is in the passport, and they are what makes the final bill.

Prepare a passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date and issued within the last ten years, the Schengen application form, a compliant ID photo, travel medical insurance covering at least €30,000, proof of accommodation, a round-trip flight reservation or itinerary, and evidence of sufficient funds. The applicant submits the file to the Belgian mission responsible for the Dominican Republic or to its partner visa application centre (VFS Global, BLS or TLScontact depending on the posting).
