Yes. A Kenyan citizen is not visa-exempt and must obtain a Schengen short-stay visa to enter Norway, for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Norway must be your main destination or first point of entry for its mission to handle the application.

Prepare a valid passport, the signed form, Schengen-standard photos, a return flight booking, proof of accommodation, bank statements and travel medical insurance covering at least €30,000 across the Schengen area. The visa fee is generally €90 for an adult, on top of any service charge from the partner centre.

The Kenyan applicant first registers the application on the UDI portal, pays the fee, then books an appointment at the partner submission centre (VFS Global) or the Norwegian Embassy in Nairobi to hand in the file and give biometrics. Fingerprints and a photo are taken on site unless they are already on record from the past five years.

Applying to Norway when the main stay is actually in another Schengen country is a classic reason for refusal. Buying insufficient insurance (below €30,000 or not covering the whole Schengen area), showing barely adequate funds, or providing vague proof of accommodation also weaken the application.
