Visa for Belgium from Suriname: price, documents and processing time 2026

Yes. Surinamese citizens have no visa exemption for the Schengen Area, of which Belgium is part. For a tourist stay a Type C visa is required. It covers the whole Schengen Area but must be requested from Belgium when it is your only or principal destination.

The published fee is the government charge alone. Two or three other lines are added before the visa is in the passport, and they are what makes the final bill.

Apply through the Belgian mission responsible for Suriname or its authorised visa centre (VFS Global, TLScontact or BLS depending on the region).
