Yes. Holders of a passport from Chad cannot visit Oman for tourism without a visa obtained before departure. An important clarification: Oman’s tourist visa is not issued directly to travellers who are not on the exemption list. The Royal Oman Police grants it under the sponsorship of a licensed Omani tourism agency, under the name “sponsored tourist visa”; it is valid for 30 days and extendable once by 30 days (official service “Get a sponsored tourist visa” on gov.om, updated on 5 August 2025). The whole process therefore goes through a licensed tourism agency or the Embassy of Oman, before any ticket is booked.

The published fee is the government charge alone. Two or three other lines are added before the visa is in the passport, and they are what makes the final bill.
