In short

Greek nationals must hold a visa to enter Indonesia. This is most often an electronic visa (e-Visa) applied for online before the trip; a visa on arrival is also available at eligible entry points.

For a Greek traveller, Indonesia offers a short-stay tourist visa to arrange before arrival. The main channel is the e-Visa, requested on the official portal at evisa.imigrasi.go.id, while major international airports such as Denpasar (Bali) or Jakarta often grant a visa on arrival. The Greek passport must stay valid for at least six months after entry.

Do you need a visa?

Yes. A Greek national cannot enter Indonesia for tourism without a visa. The common option is the e-Visa arranged in advance; depending on the arrival airport or seaport and the rules in force, a visa on arrival may also be granted.

How and where to apply

Everything is done online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id, the portal of Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration. After creating an account you upload the main passport page and a photo, complete the travel form and pay by card; the approved visa arrives by email. A traveller who prefers the visa on arrival pays for it directly at the immigration desk on landing.

Documents and fees

Carry a Greek passport valid for at least six months with a free page, a recent photo, an onward or return ticket and an accommodation address. Our data give neither the fee, nor the validity, nor the permitted length of stay: refer to evisa.imigrasi.go.id for the current amounts and durations before making any payment.

Processing and tips

The e-Visa is normally issued electronically within a few days, but no timeframe is guaranteed in our data; plan at least a week ahead and keep the PDF as well as a printout. Make sure the spelling of your name and your passport number are identical to the document, and check the extension conditions if your stay runs long.

Common mistakes

Do not travel on a passport whose validity drops below six months. Do not automatically count on the visa on arrival: it depends on the entry point and is not guaranteed for every purpose. Finally, check every detail before paying, as an error can invalidate the e-Visa and block boarding.
